Logical Progression
Carbon Logic provide a new avenue for aspiring producers…
Looking for a more effective way to get your
music heard, signed, out there in the clubs? Then look no further than
Carbon Logic, a new online resource
site that focuses purely on music.
The advent of online communities like
Myspace has thrown up exciting opportunities for new producers and bands to
get their music heard, but Carbon Logic goes one step beyond, taking their
template and channelling it directly into music. Completely free to join and
use, the site gives members the opportunities to sing the praises of the best
music posted there, and hosts a quarterly competition to find the best new
artists and tracks, judged by record label head honchos.
Currently, tops breaks label Finger
Lickin’ are presiding in the judges’ hotseat with Justin Rushmore and
Jem Panufnik checking out all the latest tracks. They’ll select one
winner from a final 10-track shortlist, which will be published on 31st July.
The prize is a two-day recording session in London’s Snorkel Studios so
through June and July, expect a cavalcade of quality breakbeat to descend upon
the site.
Previous winners have gone on to have their tracks released on labels like
Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood
Recordings and futuristic hip-hop imprint
Big Dada. Get online and upload your coolest cuts now at
www.carbonlogic.co.uk. You gotta be in it to win it!
