Vortex
I first got involved in the Jungle/DnB scene back in school listening to DJ’s like Hype and Slipmat who first influenced me then I bought a couple of vinyl’s to use on my mates turntables where I learnt how to mix.
I then saved and bought my first set of turntables for £100 which were absolutely dry to say the least; that was twelve years ago when I was 13 and it all went from there.
My first station was fundamental FM where I played a weekly slot throughout the summer holidays over 2 years which gave me my first real experience in playing out which has only benefited me over the years. Nice one Wandsworth Council.
I then went on to play at friends’ parties and events in clubs such as Dogstar in Brixton and the Jongleurs club and various other venues around South London.
Through these years I met my long time friend DJ Setspeed who brought me onto UK Rumble where I done a weekly show back to back with Setspeed and MC’s Killer D and Dizzy D, Nuff respect to them boys.
I then went on to play around various universities like Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester where I got a residency at a night called Shakedown that my long time friend Philly was promoting and I’ve been marching since.
I went on to play a Saturday night show on Raw flex FM which first got me into presenting rather than just mixing. Big up the Rawflex crew.
Which leads me to now where you can catch me on World Dance FM where I’ll be playing 8 – 10 pm each and every Thursday.
My style of music is anything that sounds big, don’t care who made it, or where it came from, as long as it sounds good.
My mixing style combines clean tidy double drops, big cuts and always tears the place down.
Lock-in Lock-on, tell a enemy, tell a friend…
