Ritual
I am Dj Ritual, and I come from the Dockland area and have lived there most of my life. Growing up I used to listen to jungle music, then when I started going raving I realized that Drum and Bass was the music I liked best. Before I got into mixing DnB I used to mix a bit of garage (Ladies garage!) Then I changed to DnB when the style of beats changed.

I have been mixing DnB since 2002 and love getting new tunes on a regular basis. I like changing between styles within my sets and constantly included varying shades of music ie. dark/smooth/jumpy. I like dropping some of the old badboy tunes for good measure too!
Playing out
After mixing DnB for about a year, I met Dj Silverhaze and he introduced me to Dj-ing in bars.
Places I’ve played
Soma (Stepney): We held our own DnB night, once a week. Which was a great learning experience and we had jokes!
Waterfront Club (Docklands): We held a night called Solid State in the week, not a bad sized place but could have reached more of its potential if we were able to have it on the weekend.

Big in the Dance-Viva La Bass
I started mixing with Special T in 2004. Mixed on Wax Fm 102.4 with him for about a year.
On the 14th oct 2006 Special T and me put on our first rave at Brixton Mass, it was a phat night and had a good line up too. Viva La Bass is still going strong and we will be having the first birthday soon! Watch out!

I’m also involved in ukrumble.com and have been mixing on there for the past year, you can catch me on Fridays 9-10:30pm!
