Craig Mac

Craig started Dj'ing at the age of 15, in Durban, South Africa, where he grew up, mostly playing house parties and school discos. His first residency was two years later at a local club in his hometown. The music policy was “High Energy” and the most popular label at the time was ZYX!

“Getting good tunes was not easy, as they had to be imported from Europe and the UK. As a result vinyl became more expensive and less popular.”

From 1985 to 1995 he continued to play in numerous clubs around South Africa, as well as owning three of his own clubs. In 1996 he decided to move over to the UK and settled in London.

Craig Mac spent the next two years as resident DJ at “The Sports Café” in London as well as doing various guest spots around the UK.

More recently he has been in big demand on the underground circuit, playing mainly Funky and Bouncy to Hard Uplifting House – Tunes guaranteed to make you smile – and plays regularly in line ups with names like BK, Andy Farley, Skol, Roosta, Paul Glazby and Matt Clark.

Craig is a highly skilled mixer with a polished sound, and is able to read a crowd giving them exactly what they've waited all week for!

He was also featured every Saturday night on www.wdrfm.co.uk  for 18 months as a resident and this along with a few local residencies has kept him busy.

Craig Mac has recently been spending time in a studio working on some original material with colleague and friend Skol that will be released later.
